ATTORNEYS
Amy E. Goganian
is admitted to practice law in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, the United States District Court for the District of Massachusetts, and the United States Court of Appeals for the First Circuit.
Amy focuses her practice on the defense of individuals and businesses in all types of civil litigation matters, with a particular emphasis on the representation of professionals who are sued for malpractice, as well as c. 93A and c. 176D matters. She has a long track record of successfully resolving lawsuits via trial, dispositive motions, mediation, arbitration and negotiation. Amy developed a strong background in all aspects of civil litigation defense being associated with the law firm of Parker, Coulter, Daley & White, and later as a partner at Melick, Porter & Shea before opening her own practice in 2006.
Amy has published and lectured frequently in the areas of attorney liability, deposition techniques for scientific and lay witnesses, and effective pretrial litigation tactics. She served as co-chair of the Boston Bar Association Committee on Professional Liability, and is currently a member of the Massachusetts Bar Association, the Boston Bar Association, and the Women's Bar Association.
In 2009, Amy also became a member of the International Association of Defense Counsel, an invitation-only, peer-reviewed association made up of the world's leading corporate and insurance defense attorneys.
Amy is a cum laude graduate of Wellesley College with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in English Literature. She graduated in 1989 from Brooklyn Law School where she was a Dean's Merit Scholar, a member of the Executive Committee of the Brooklyn Law School Moot Court Honor Society, and a recipient of the 1989 Order of the Barrister Award.
Colin K. O'Brien
is admitted to practice law in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and the United States District Court for the District of Massachusetts.
Colin focuses his practice on the representation of individuals and businesses in professional liability matters, with an emphasis on legal and medical malpractice defense. In addition, Colin has extensive experience representing clients in product liability, commercial liability and general liability matters. Colin previously worked as a litigation associate with the firms of Morrison Mahoney, LLP, and Campbell, Campbell, Edwards & Conroy, PC, in Boston, MA.
Colin graduated magna cum laude from Boston College in 1997 with a B.A. in Political Science. He received his J.D. from Boston College Law School in 2001.
Monica S. Caveda
is admitted to practice in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and the United States District Court for the District of Massachusetts.
Monica focuses her practice on the defense of legal malpractice cases. In addition, Monica has extensive experience representing clients in product liability, business litigation and general liability matters. Monica previously worked as a litigation associate at the firm of Sugarman, Rogers, Barshak & Cohen in Boston, MA.
Monica graduated from Tufts University with a B.A. in Political Science in 1989. She received her J.D. from Boston University School of Law in 1994.
